What it does

Keep digital records of income and expenses in Xero, then send quarterly updates to HMRC from Xero.
Xero markets MTD for Income Tax for sole traders and landlords.
GOV.UK: standard quarterly update deadlines are 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May.

Limits and gotchas

You still need to check whether and when MTD for Income Tax applies to you (GOV.UK).
